Since late February, Isla has started scooting around a lot faster. Here’s a video of her doing a lap around our kitchen.

Thanksgiving 2009

First Time Eating Peas

Over the past couple of weeks, Isla has been introduced to single-grain rice cereal. Today, however, was the first time she was fed a vegetable: pureed petite peas. We’ll continue to introduce her to new veggies and fruits and eventually yogurt, cheeses, beans, and other tasty treats. Despite some of the faces she makes in this video, she seemed to like the peas overall!

Isla enjoyed her first swing at the park today. She loved it, and even started laughing at one point!

Turning Over

Isla has been moving forward in leaps and bounds. Just within the past few days, she has gone through a growth spurt. She responds more to toys and figured out how to pull one of the rings which turns on music. Today when I placed her in the crib to play with a rattle, she put herself to sleep after a short while (usually she requires rocking, nursing, or other soothing methods before falling asleep). She can stand up with support and a few weeks ago I caught her rolling from her tummy to her back. I haven’t seen it since, but this morning she turned over from back to tummy. I could hardly believe my eyes, and when I asked her to do it again, she obliged with the following video.
