Christmas 2010

Instead of opening presents on Christmas Eve as we’ve done in the past, the Tanakas came over from Coronado to the Cocomoon in Chula Vista where we shared a meal and exchanged gifts. It was great being able to spread out and Isla was in toy heaven! We’re so lucky to be surrounded with loving family and friends both near and far. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve 2010

We spent Christmas Eve at the Tanakas as we have done many years in the past. This is, after all, where Mason proposed to Alika in front of her family in 2005! We dined on a traditional Swedish smorgasbord and attended a church service afterward. Isla behaved pretty well given the circumstances and crashed in the car on the ride home.

The High Life

We were lucky enough to stay at the Four Seasons in West Hollywood for Mason’s company holiday party. Isla ordered room service and behaved well for the sitter while we partied at a lounge bar/nightclub called Voyeur. After the company business ended, it was open to the public where we were soon joined by the cast from the reality TV show “Survivor.” It was quite a surreal bash!

Pre-Christmas

Isla survived her first visit to Santa’s lap without tears. No smile, either, but we’re considering it a success! We also attended a potluck with some of the toddler pals we’ve met over the past year. Isla has a particular fondness for chairs–especially this kid-sized couch at her friend’s house. Perhaps Santa will have to bring her one for x-mas!
