Sweet pea!

103109-042

The pea pod outfit turned out to be a bit too small without much wiggle room, so Isla turned back into a pumpkin for the remainder of the evening.

We hung out with the TLC fam for dinner and treats.

Cassius finally allowed his dinosaur costume to be put on just in time for trick-or-treating.

Isla watched from the warm stroller as the neighborhood kids collected candy.

The moms did most of the hoofing!

And the dads too.

103109-094

Most of the time, this lil’ dino preferred to ride his friend’s bike over eating candy–until he got home to a full pumpkin, that is!

Sleepy Isla dreams of future Halloweens when she can walk and fill her boiler with tasty treats.

All the Rage

Every baby strolling down the streets if San Francisco can be seen with “Sophie la girafe” in tote. Apparently this 1961 Paris-born squeaky toy is popular in getting into the corners of tiny teething mouths. In a moment of not-so-quiet desperation, I plunked down the coin in attempt to satiate this little squawker. The verdict? The light-weight body is easy for infant hands to hold and the giraffe’s legs seem to be a tasty treat, although so far Sophie is no magic bullet. Isla still gets frustrated after awhile with toys, not quite knowing what to do with them or how to fit them properly back into her mouth. But I’m glad Sophie is now in our arsenal of potential soothing tools. Maybe she’ll grow into it. I’ve heard of some adults who still have fond memories of their own Sophie. Who knew!

Here’s another recent acquisition: a Wubbanub frog attached to a Soothie pacifier. Since Isla loves to take the pacifier out of her mouth but hasn’t learned to put it back in, I thought this toy might aid in her practice. In theory, the plush animal is easy for mini mitts to find and insert into an open pie hole, however, I haven’t noticed a whole lot of help from Mr. Frog. Still, maybe she’ll get the hang of it in due time.

San Diego Visit

We visited Coronado/San Diego in mid-October. Of course Gramma Karin and Grampa Mel were thrilled to see the little one.

Isla went for many buggie rides on the smooth sidewalks and in the gorgeous weather that Coronado has to offer.

5 Monther

Isla weighs around 15 pounds now, is a definite jabberjaw chatterbox, and loves sticking anything and everything into her mouth. Here are a few pics from the last month!
